Maurice Tchenio
BIOGRAPHY
A graduate of HEC (Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales, a Paris-based International Business School) and Harvard Business School, Maurice Tchenio was one of the pioneers in Private Equity by creating Apax Partners in 1972, alongside Alan Patricof and Ronald Cohen. Maurice Tchenio is the founder of Apax Partners in France, a leading player in this sector, and Altamir, a listed Private Equity company.
He was a driving force in the creation of the first French Private Equity Investment Fund (Fonds Commun de Placement à Risque) and the French Private Equity Association (Association Française des Investisseurs en Capital).
With 40 years of experience in Private Equity at the head of Apax Partners, I wanted my know-how to benefit the wider public interest and so created the AlphaOmega Foundation in 2010. The Foundation has a public benefit status and is unique as it promotes the concept of Venture Philanthropy in France. AlphaOmega's mission is to help disadvantaged children and young people to gain access to financial independence through education and employment. The Foundation supports charities that pursue these objectives, in France, by providing both financial support and management support.

ALAIN AFFLELOU
CEO of Alain Afflelou, Co-founder of the AlphaOmega Foundation
"When Maurice Tchenio mentioned his Foundation, I was enthusiastic about his entrepreneurial and innovative approach for a cause that I see as crucial to the future of our society. As an entrepreneur who benefitted from the advantages of Private Equity to help develop my own company, I can truly appreciate how constructive this approach is. So I decided to team up and support this wonderful idea by making both a personal and business investment in the AlphaOmega Foundation."
BERTRAND GAILLOCHET
Co-founder of the AlphaOmega Foundation
"As a corporate executive and entrepreneur, I have dedicated my career to working with companies to make them more efficient. I am truly convinced that the quality of teams, the way they work and the strengthening of organisational structures are essential for growth and success. This is a distinguishing characteristic of the AlphaOmega Foundation and its work with charities which is one of the reasons I decided to work with Maurice Tchenio and his team by becoming a co-founder of AlphaOmega and making a personal investment."
